Redditch Lib Dems Endorse Margaret Rowley For West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner

3 Mar 2021

Redditch Liberal Democrats are please to endorse Margaret Rowley as the Liberal Democrat candidate for the Police and Crime Commissioner election on May 6th.

Margaret Rowley PCC candidate for West Merica

As a former manager in the NHS and a Wychavon District Councillor for 25 years, she has built up a wealth of experience of service management in the public sector, listening to members of the community, championing their views, and where possible achieving their priorities.

Margaret says "Local people, and particularly the elderly, are telling me that they feel vulnerable because they so rarely see any sign of the police in their communities. With the net reduction in police staffing levels, there is a problem maintaining a visible presence".

"Furthermore, although non-violent crime levels have fallen during the pandemic, other demands on the police are growing, including those created by trying to impose the chaotic and constantly changing restrictions due to Covid".

Margaret has set out her three priorities for policing in Redditch and wider West Mercia:

  1. Increase the number of police officers working in the community
  2. Prioritise crime prevention
  3. Ensure local police stations remain open and local police 'hubs' are created where needed, so people can report crimes and seek advice.

Margaret will make a fantastic Police and Crime Commissioner for West Mercia and we hope you will give her your support.
