Say no to Moons Moat Drive Housing Development

The proposed Moons Moat Drive development should not go ahead

Having heard of the plans on Wednesday 28th October, I went to look at the site where they are proposing to build 23 new homes.

There is no doubt that there is demand for new housing affordable and social housing in Redditch, it is clear that the proposed site off Moons Moat Drive is not suitable for development.

My main concerns are:

• Increased risk of motor collisions and collisions with pedestrians.
  • The proposed junction for the new road is too close to the Rickyard Lane/Moons Moat Drive junction which is already an accident blackspot.
  • The proposed junction is also situated just off a bend and traffic will be accellerating as they enter Moons Moat Drive.
• The trees and vegitation in the area provide a habitat for wildlife and help clean the air that we all breath. Losing them would be a travesty.
• The proposed housing develpment is in between two arterial routes.
