Today's news that the Council have paused plans to turn Ipsley Meadow into a cemetery and complete a full review of options has been cautiously welcomed by Arrow Valley East candidate Mark Tomes. Speaking of the decision Mark said "I have been working with local campaigners on this issue for many months and the Liberal Democrats here in Redditch launched our campaign to stop the proposals back in December 2020. We have been encouraging local residents to lodge objections as well as asking local media outlets to cover the story. Just last week, BBC Hereford and Worcester ran the story as part of their breakfast show.

The roads in Church Hill are not fit for purpose and that's why i've launched my 'Fix our Roads' campaign calling on the County Council to repair the roads in and around Church
Hill. If you agree that the roads are not up to scratch, please add your name by clicking here.

My team and I are on a mission to report as many potholes as possible so that we can all drive along the streets of Church Hill without risking damaging our cars. If you know of a pothole that needs repairing, please let me know by clicking here.

  • Postage
    Petition: Nov 15, 2020

Lib Dem campaigners are calling on the Royal Mail to allow people to send cards and parcels to loved ones in care homes for free for the rest of the year.

The Coronavirus outbreak has left many of the 400,000 people who live in care homes cut off from contact with their loved ones.

Introducing free postage would be a big comfort for many people - helping family and friends keep in touch during what could be a lonely time.

After the Conservative Government voted against extending free school meals to the holiday period, Mark decided to do his bit to help make sure that no family in Church Hill and across Redditch went hungry by holding two pop up Food Bank collection points in Church Hill Centre.

The people of Church Hill were amazing - over 20 bags of food and sanitary products were donated across the two mornings, all of which were handed over to the Redditch Food bank.

  • Mark Tomes looking at plans for housing development on Moons Moat Drive
    Petition: Oct 30, 2020

The proposed Moons Moat Drive development should not go ahead

Having heard of the plans on Wednesday 28th October, I went to look at the site where they are proposing to build 23 new homes.

There is no doubt that there is demand for new housing affordable and social housing in Redditch, it is clear that the proposed site off Moons Moat Drive is not suitable for development.
